KEELUNG CITY — One of the things I really like about Taiwan is that there are hidden coves like this everywhere. I bet this spot was paradise for whoever lived here hundreds of years ago.

Within a short distance there's the ocean, a lake, and a mountain peak from which one can overlook it all. It would have been perfect for a small settlement.

The pic above looks down on Dawulun Beach (大武崙情人海灘). I've never been but it seem like a good place to chill and swim. Perhaps too crowded on weekends though.

I really loved this place. The medieval watchtower was a great finishing touch.
